AI Agents Left the Lab. Marketing Still Has No Rules.

This week the industry stopped arguing about prompts and started shipping agents that act. Not 'draft the email.' Send the email. Book the meeting. Pay the vendor. That is a different product. And most agency stacks still behave like 2024.

Four moves that actually matter

NVIDIA agreed to acquire Hugging Face for about $12.93B and pledged the hub stays open and multi-accelerator. That is infrastructure, not a mascot deal. If your production work sits on open models, the 'front door' just got owned by the company that already owns the GPUs.

OpenAI put GPT-6 Astra into general availability across Bedrock and Microsoft Foundry, then cut usage limits up to 4x days later. Capability shipped. Capacity did not. If your delivery plan assumes unlimited flagship tokens, rewrite the plan.

Meta launched Muse in the US: an agent that emails, books travel, and makes payments through an app and WhatsApp. Then it had to reset token quotas after usage hit 10x projections. Demand is not theoretical. Governance is.

DeepSeek pushed V4.1 Flash into the cheap-and-fast lane and started routing work off V4-Pro. Price and speed pressure does not wait for your stack review.

The marketing layer just changed jobs

AI agents for marketing are no longer a slide. Muse-style agents can book, email, and pay. Clay just raised $115M at a $7.1B valuation because sales teams want agents that find the account, write the outreach, and update the CRM. Generative engine optimization is the other half: if an agent is choosing the vendor, your page has to be readable by that agent, not just by a human skimming a blog.

Here is the uncomfortable BEFORE / AFTER.

  • BEFORE: generate 20 copy variants and hope a human ships one.

  • AFTER: an agent sends the sequence, books the call, and logs the payment.

  • BEFORE: SEO for ten blue links.

  • AFTER: GEO for answer engines and agent-facing pages.

What we are doing this week

I am not swapping the whole stack because a model dropped. I am putting a kill-switch on anything that can send, book, or pay. Then I am writing one page an agent can quote without hallucinating our offer. Finish that before you chase the next launch.

Make it rare.
