Claude Just Collapsed Into One Window. Agencies Should Notice.

The labs spent two years teaching us to pick a tab. Chat or Cowork. Draft or agent. Think or ship. This week they quietly admitted that was a bad product.

Anthropic merged Claude chat and Claude Cowork into one Claude. OpenAI is rolling GPT-6 Astra into paid ChatGPT and the API. Same week. Same direction. The model now decides whether your ask is a sentence or a six-hour job.

What actually shipped

On September 16, Anthropic folded Cowork back into the main Claude app. You do not pick a mode. You ask. Claude either answers or keeps working after you close the laptop. Same rollout dropped Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta for Pro and Max, and pulled Claude Design into the conversation instead of a side tool.

That is not a UI tidy-up. That is the agency stack collapsing. Brief, deck, leave-behind, and first visual now live in one thread. Export to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google. Share one link. Edit on your phone on the way to the client.

Astra is the other half. OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra on September 3 and has been opening it across Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, the API, Azure, and Bedrock. The pitch is not prettier copy. It is computer use. Book the appointment. Hunt the listing. Drive the browser. Finish the professional workflow without a human babysitting every click.

What this does to marketing

Here is the part most agencies will miss while they argue about model names.

AI-native marketing just lost its last excuse for a fragmented workflow. If Claude can draft the strategy doc and the slides in the same conversation, your team should stop bouncing a brief across Notion, Figma comments, and a deck graveyard. If Astra can actually use a computer, media ops, QA, and research stop being “wait for an intern.” They become agent loops you supervise.

The catch is trust, not talent. California just signed SB 1050. Video and audio ads that prominently use a synthetic performer need a clear disclosure. New York already started this summer. So the production speed is real, and the labeling rule is also real. We can generate the talent. We cannot pretend the talent is human.

At Dzine Prodigy I am treating this week as a stack reset, not a news digest:

  • LAYER 1 — One working conversation per client. Strategy, slides, and first design live in the same thread.

  • LAYER 2 — Move the boring computer work into Astra or Claude and keep humans on taste, offer, and brand risk.

  • LAYER 3 — Build a disclosure checklist into every AI performer ad before it leaves the house.

Do this next. Pick one live account. Ask Claude for the Monday report and the 10-slide readout in the same chat. Then ask what still needs a human before it ships. That gap is your new job description.
