Salesforce Just Moved Inside Claude. The CRM Tab Is Optional.
Dreamforce did not ship another chatbot.
It shipped the desk.
Salesforce in Claude is in open beta on every paid Claude plan. Thirty-seven prebuilt sales skills. Accounts, pipeline, call prep, forecast narrative, win/loss. GitLab, Siemens, and Legora already have it running across roughly 7,000 sellers. Claude reads Salesforce under the seller's existing permissions. It asks before it writes anything back.
That is not a plugin story. That is the CRM leaving the tab.
What actually shipped
LAYER 1 — Salesforce in Claude
The plugin sits on MCP. An admin connects Salesforce once. Each seller signs in. Claude can research an account, draft a QBR, log a call, and update an opportunity without leaving the chat. Future skills are already mapped for marketing, Tableau, service, and commerce.
LAYER 2 — Koa, the CRM brain
Same week, Salesforce and Nvidia shipped Koa. It is a CRM reasoning model post-trained on Nemotron 3 Super with 27 years of Salesforce process knowledge and zero customer data. On Salesforce's own CRM Bench it matches or beats general models on opportunity updates, case routing, and follow-ups with three times fewer errors. Formula 1, UChicago Medicine, and Xero are in the pilot. Winter 2026 is the public date.
Google also dropped Gemini 3.8 Live at the top of the speech-to-speech board. Fine. The interface war is not who talks prettier. It is where the work now lives.
Marketing and AI: the brief left the dashboard
If the seller lives in Claude, the brand that only exists inside a Salesforce layout is invisible to the person writing the QBR.
This is the AI for marketing agencies problem in one sentence. You are still designing for a screen the buyer opened. They now ask a model that already holds the pipeline.
LAYER 1 — Make the offer agent-readable. One sentence a skill can quote. Price, proof, next step. No hero-copy fog.
LAYER 2 — Write skills, not slides. Call prep, renewal brief, competitive note. Those 37 sales skills are a product spec for marketers.
LAYER 3 — Treat CRM as a source, not a stage. If Koa reasons over dirty fields, your campaign story dies in the first tool call.
BEFORE: a strategist opens Salesforce, exports a deck, and hopes the AE reads it.
AFTER: the AE asks Claude to prep the renewal. Your proof point either sits in the record or it does not get said.
Do this this week
Pick one live Salesforce org and write three skills a seller would actually run: renewal prep, pipeline triage, competitive brief.
Put the offer, the proof, and the CTA in fields an agent can read. If it only lives on a landing page, it will not make the briefing.
Stop arguing which model is smarter. Claude is the desk. Koa is the specialist. Your job is the source of truth they both pull.
The labs can debate a slowdown all month. The pipeline already moved into the chat. Agencies that keep briefing for the old tab are writing for a room nobody is sitting in.
